Master's Degree in Music Education to Begin in Summer 2018

Tuesday, May 23, 2017

The Department of Music is pleased to announce the Master of Music Education (MME) degree will begin in the Summer of 2018!  This degree is designed to be completed within three consecutive summers of traditional campus coursework and online instruction.  Certain courses may be taken during the regular academic year as well.  Through a challenging, practical, and hands-on curriculum, the goal of the MME is to help graduate students enhance their skills as music educators in one of three tracks: 1) Choral Music, 2) Elementary Music, or 3) Instrumental Music.  The university will begin to accept applications for this degree program beginning in the Fall of 2017, and more updates will be posted as they become available.

The Department of Music was founded over 60 years ago initially for the purpose of training music educators, and we are very excited about this new degree program.  If you have any questions about the MME, please do not hesitate to email or call Dr. Barry E. Kopetz, Department Head.
