Dr. Harrison earned the Bachelor of Music Degree in Organ Performance from Mississippi University for Women as a student of Dr. David Anderson, and the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts Degrees in organ performance from the University of Alabama under Professor Warren Hutton. She has remained active throughout her career as performer, teacher, accompanist, and church musician.

Most recently she taught on the adjunct faculty of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, served as Director of Music/Organist at First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs, pianist for the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, and maintained a private teaching studio in organ and piano. In 2020, she and her husband Paul returned to her hometown of Starkville where she joined the adjunct faculty at MSU and serves as Organist at First United Methodist Church. In their spare time, the Harrisons enjoy gardening, camping, and cooking.
