Emily Jones began her musical studies with bluegrass mandolin. During high school, she started taking guitar lessons and eventually went to William Carey College for a Bachelor's in Music Performance studying guitar with Dr. Miroslav Loncar. Ms. Jones also studied guitar with Thomas Patterson at the University of Arizona where she obtained a Master's in Music. She has won top prizes at several guitar competitions, such as at the Portland Guitar Festival and MTNA collegiate artist competition.

Her performances both solo and chamber have carried her to parts of the southeastern and western United States. Ms. Jones enjoys the opportunity to perform for classical guitarists in masterclasses and has performed for William Kanengiser, David Leisner, Hopkinson Smith, Bruce Holzman, Lily Afshar, Ricardo Cobo, and several others. Currently she is on faculty at Mississippi State University, Oakwood University and teaches at two private studios, Ars Nova, Inc. and The Studio of Fine Arts at FBC Decatur, AL.
