Gregory Wascoe, tenor, is currently working towards a doctorate in vocal performance and literature at the University of Illinois. He completed his Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Masters of Music Degree from the University of North Texas with an emphasis in opera. Before switching to heldentenor, Greg performed several operatic bass and baritone roles, some highlights include Tonio in I Pagliacci, Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana, Marcello in La Boheme, Peter in Hansel and Gretel, Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief and the title role in Gianni Schicchi. Greghas also been heard in many oratorio and concert works and toured extensively with the Fort Worth Opera outreach program.

Recently, Greg traveled to Germany where he was a featured soloist at the International Vocal Institute in Dierbach. There he performed excerpts from Der Freischutz, Die Walkyre, Fidelio and Die Fledermaus in concert. He also performed excerpts from Gotterdammerung and Die Walkyre in public master classes with dramatic soprano, Jayne Casselman; studienleiter of the Nationaltheater Mannheim, Dr. Stephen Marinaro and heldentenor, Wolfgang Neumann. He has also performed scenes from Parsifal, Der Freischutz, and Die Walkyre at the Memphis Opera and Song Academy under the direction of Michael Leinert. He continues his vocal studies with internationally acclaimed heldentenor, John Charles Pierce and coaches with Mark Ensley.
