Seen in this photo with Dr. Damm are students enrolled in his Research in Music Education course.  This summer marks the first offerings of the Music Department’s new graduate degree.  The program is designed to fit into the busy lives of current music teachers.  It is a 32-hour degree consisting of a 14-hour core, 8 hours in the concentration and 10 hours of electives. The M.M.E. is designed to be completed in three consecutive summers at MSU.  Courses offered this summer include Research in Music Education, Jazz Techniques for the Music Educator, World Drumming, Advanced Woodwind Pedagogy, Keyboard Skills for Music Educators, Techniques of Choral Conducting, Advanced Vocal Pedagogy, and Individual Studio Instruction.
