Percussion Studio Summer Activities

Several members of the MSU Percussion Studio will be active in new ventures this summer. Recent graduate Cindy Jennings (BME, ’16) has accepted a teaching position in the Wesson,MS public schools. Kevin West will be graduating this summer. He is serving on the instructional staff of the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps and will be attending Texas A&M at Commerce in the fall, where he will be a Graduate Assistant, teaching applied percussion, percussion ensemble, and marching percussion, as well as pursuing a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance. Senior Garrett Gibson will be traveling to Denton, TX in June where he will participate in the University of North Texas Marimba Seminar. Faculty member Jason Baker will be returning for his third summer at the Sam Houston Percussion Festival in Huntsville, TX where he will be performing solo recitals and teaching masterclasses and chamber music along with percussion faculty from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, University of Washington, Lamar University, and Sam Houston State University.
