The MSU Community Music School offers weekly private lessons for the region. Lessons are given by faculty affiliated to the Music Teachers National Association, Mississippi Music Teachers Association and Golden Triangle Forum and the Federation of Music Clubs. The semester culminate in one recital at the end of each semester and Fall/Spring are focus on state competitions and evaluations according to a pre-established curriculum. The school accepts beginners, intermediate and advanced students focusing on a comprehensive curriculum and teaching approach. Subjects taught are: musicianship, technique, theory/ear training and history.
