The Mississippi State University, Department of Music, piano area core mission is to prepare students for professional careers with a well-rounded education in music as well as solo and collaborative performance. All majors and minors taking piano lessons will perform in the semester recital and Recital Hour. All recital music are memorized, with the exception of work for four-eight hands and the music vary from Baroque to twenty-first century repertoire for keyboard.
