Sara Horan, voice instructor at MSU, is a recent transplant to Starkville.  A Louisiana native, Mrs. Horan earned her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education from Northwestern State University, and her Master of Music Education from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Through fifteen years of teaching, Mrs. Horan has taught public school music including high school choir, elementary general music and elementary choir. Mrs. Horan has also taught at the university level at Georgia Southwestern University where she instructed voice, music appreciation, sight-singing and music education courses, including assisting with the development of Georgia teaching certification add-on to the music degree.  During her time in Texas, Mrs. Horan collaborated with the Barbers Hill High School Choir, as the private voice teacher for choral students.
Currently, Mrs. Horan teaches private voice and piano in Starkville, as she has done wherever her family has resided. She also directs the Concert Choir of the Starkville Homeschool Music Cooperative. She is active at her church working in children’s, college and music ministry.

Mrs. Horan is married to Joe, pastor of Starkville Community Church. They have three wonderful children, and a lovable old dog.
