Ginny Jordan serves as a Collaborative Pianist for the Department of Music at Mississippi State University. She is a native of Forest, Mississippi. Mrs. Jordan attended Mississippi State University where she majored in piano and was a member of the Famous Maroon Band. After moving to Pensacola, Florida, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from University of West Florida.
Mrs. Jordan taught music in Okaloosa County Schools in Florida for thirty-two years in the Niceville and Fort Walton Beach area. She has experience teaching students of three different age levels in music education: Elementary School Music, Middle School Chorus, and High School Chorus. As a choral director, Mrs. Jordan’s choirs consistently received the highest ratings at festivals and assessments. As an Elementary Music Specialist, she was twice honored as the “Teacher of the Year” for her school.
As an accompanist, Mrs. Jordan played the piano for numerous band and vocal soloists as well as choruses throughout her career. She served as the pianist for First Baptist Church of Niceville, Florida for over thirty-seven years.
Mrs. Jordan and her husband, Chuck, recently moved back to Mississippi in their retirement. They enjoy attending many sporting events at the university, especially football, as her husband is a former Bulldog football player. In her retirement Mrs. Jordan teaches an upper elementary music class for the Starkville Homeschool Music Cooperative and enjoys being an accompanist for the music students at Mississippi State University.
