Mr. Henry Sargent

Alabama-native, Henry Sargent, is a tubist and educator dedicated to music education in the southern states. Currently a doctoral student at the University of Alabama, he holds teaching positions at Mississippi State University in Starkville and Stillman College in addition to his assistantship duties with the Alabama Million Dollar Band. As an avid performer he has performed throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma with the SYS Brass Trio and Arkansas Tuba Euphonium Ensemble, visiting local communities and working with high school musicians. He has also performed with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and Arkansas MusicWorks Brass Band. In 2023 he was named the winner of the University of Arkansas Concerto-Aria Competition performing Vaughn-Williams’ iconic Concerto for Tuba. He holds degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Arkansas.
