Dr. Serena Scibelli, violin
Internationally known American pianist Victor Rosenbaum has concertized widely as soloist and chamber music performer in the United States, Europe, Israel, Brazil, Russia and Asia in such prestigious halls as Tully Hall in New York and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia. He collaborated with Leonard Rose, Paul Katz, Arnold Steinhardt, Robert Mann, Joseph Silverstein, James Buswell, Malcolm Lowe, and the Brentano, Borromeo and Cleveland String Quartets. Recently retired from the faculty of New England Conservatory in Boston, where he taught for more than fifty years, he chaired its piano department for over a decade, and was also Chair of Chamber Music. We are delighted to welcome esteemed pianist Victor Rosenbaum to our campus and celebrate the return of artist and former Mississippi State violin professor, Dr. Serena Scibelli, to perform a very special Schubertiad with MSU cello professor, Dr. Amy Catron. Celebrating 229 years since Schubert's birth, this recital will include Sonatas for Violin and Cello, and the Piano Trio in B-flat Major, D. 898. Robert Schumann said, “One glance at Schubert's Trio, Op. 99, and the troubles of our human existence disappear and all the world is fresh and bright again.” We invite you to be transported by the lyrical artistry of Franz Schubert.
